History 1990s

The Packmate brand was founded by a practical need for an efficient packaging friend. In twenty years, the small firm has grown into a global organisation serving over a dozen of the Fortune 500.

1990s

Flexible packaging was about to boom when George Lam W.P. founded his own packaging company in 1993. He had left his management career as a director at the Willett UK, where he set up the firm's first China production plant in Zhuhai (which is later acquired by Videojet). He quickly gained a reputation for providing advice on packaging and production issues.

George was determined to help companies solve their packaging problems. In an era when Chinese machines suffer a relatively high failure rate, George set out to provide after sales service by scrapping one out of five machines for spare parts. The inefficient work shaped his vision to set up his own production plant.

By mid 1990s, George began to supply high quality packaging machines which are robust and friendly to its operator, and the Packmate brand was born.
